Creative Poetry: Life

Here's a simple exercise. Define life, or describe it, in one word. Not simple is it? Well, how about if I asked you to list all words you think associated itself with life. What all words can you think of that remind you of life when you hear them? Here is an attempt I made at this exercise.

Creative Poetry: Ecstasy - Soul

There are poems about love, and life, and sex. Then there are poems about the soul, that transcend all things else - and yet, need them to express themselves. This is one of those works.

Creative Fiction: Jilting Aphorisms, Yearning Abstractions.

Where to start... this specific piece is very close to my heart. This is mainly because it is the culmination of one of the biggest phases of change in my writing style. This is perhaps where I came to terms with the relationship between structural rules and the freedom to follow my own rules. It also was a gift, and so designed to bring forth meaning. And lastly, it was also my first attempt to write in the form of children's tales, full with tune and flow. Have a good time with this one, folks.

Creative Fiction: Sex. Trust.

I wonder if the people involved here remember this piece. Again, very different to my normal style of writing because I was experimenting with my form, but still, overwhelming in its symbolism. I can read Freud all over this. And Nietzsche. And a couple of others. Read on.

Creative Poetry: I. You. It.

Oh my. This is a very interesting poem, given the time it was written. So the allusion is quite naked here (see what I did there?), and free for all to see. But here's the thing, it was written before I had any experience in the matter. Which would make this piece juxtaposed with the expectation of intimacy. Read on, have fun. Maybe I will write on the matter again.

Creative Poetry: Sing, Fly, Open Up

We tend to see the world with our own shade of glasses. So we tend to see the beauty that others miss. And often, this blindness to the self causes people to not know how amazing they are - they remain bound by expectations and perceptions. Here is an attempt to shake them of such preconceived chains.

Creative Poetry: Blind Trust

This poem marks my continued experimentation with the form and structure of poetry. The back story is that I had a nightmare, and this poem is all that is left of that dream. Enjoy.

Creative Poetry: That's a Given

Sometimes we all need a guardian angel. And sometimes, once we are better, we try to help others. And when we can't, we try to get help for others the same way we got help ourselves. This is an interesting poem for me personally, because this is where I started exploring narrative styles within poetry. This poem doesn't follow conventional standards of any sort. The attempt was to keep free of all restrictions, and find my own style.
