This poem marks my continued experimentation with the form and structure of poetry. The back story is that I had a nightmare, and this poem is all that is left of that dream. Enjoy.
Lightning flashes
Its clear for a moment
The plan
Life you set out
Plunged once more
In darkness galore
Doubts creep
Insecurity reigns
Shadows scare
Life out of your soul
You hope in vain
For an angel in white
But all you get
Wisp of a dream
Holds out her hand
Beckons you forward
Into the darkness
That death brought forth
Touch her; you try
One with the night
Fingers pass smoke
A chill down the spine
Another lightning: look
Yet another ravine left behind
Lightning flashes
Its clear for a moment
The plan
Life you set out
Plunged once more
In darkness galore
Doubts creep
Insecurity reigns
Shadows scare
Life out of your soul
You hope in vain
For an angel in white
But all you get
Wisp of a dream
Holds out her hand
Beckons you forward
Into the darkness
That death brought forth
Touch her; you try
One with the night
Fingers pass smoke
A chill down the spine
Another lightning: look
Yet another ravine left behind
