Burroughs and Gilman: Final Thesis


For my final thesis, for once, I only wrote about the rejection of tradition and the embracing of rationalism in Herland, by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Creative Poetry: Life

Here's a simple exercise. Define life, or describe it, in one word. Not simple is it? Well, how about if I asked you to list all words you think associated itself with life. What all words can you think of that remind you of life when you hear them? Here is an attempt I made at this exercise.

Creative Poetry: I. You. It.

Oh my. This is a very interesting poem, given the time it was written. So the allusion is quite naked here (see what I did there?), and free for all to see. But here's the thing, it was written before I had any experience in the matter. Which would make this piece juxtaposed with the expectation of intimacy. Read on, have fun. Maybe I will write on the matter again.
