Creative Poetry: Sing, Fly, Open Up

We tend to see the world with our own shade of glasses. So we tend to see the beauty that others miss. And often, this blindness to the self causes people to not know how amazing they are - they remain bound by expectations and perceptions. Here is an attempt to shake them of such preconceived chains.

He wants the person
That hides behind the veil
Of propriety; shame...
Why bird doth you not sing
A melody of freedom?

Why, must you suffer
In subjugated silence
In this self erected prison:
With bars of rules,
Ball and chains of expectations?

Break free, fly
Breathe easy now
Care not for the world
Where everyone lies
And false modesty reigns

Let out that song
Trapped in your bosom
Strip down, naked
To the barest, mere
Truth of your being...
