Bram Stoker: Introduction

To get a basic understanding of what this section is all about, read on.

This week I will be studying a very famous book - Bram Stoker's Dracula. Will keep putting up posts about different aspects that speak out to me in due course.

You can find the free ebook of Dracula here.

Published in 1897 when Ireland was still a colony of England, this book has been set up in London and the related environs. Can't wait to get into the nuances of that relationship. It seems Bram Stoker was a personal assistant to actor Henry Irving and the manager of his theater, the Lyceum. Should be references to dramatic notions as well, which serves you well when you are writing fantasy. Also lots of Victorian themes being visited - yay backward thinking!
