Creative Poetry: I'm Loving Angels Instead

We've all had crushes we've not acted upon. We all have felt that small tinge of pain and shame when we can't approach the object of our affection, of when we didn't receive the attention of one we desired. This poem attempts to touch upon those feelings.

Ps. It seems I have the flair for the dramatic. Does this make me a romantic - in the literary sense?

I waited for you to see me,
I waited till my last breath,
That last sip from your chalice eye,
For my angel to hand me to death

I loved you all my life,
When the sun shone down
And when it poured all night,
My angel and her silken gown

My angel urges
That we depart this soulless world
I wait for that mortal
My heart who did undo n' hurl

I must tell you the blood
That's spilt unto my angel's lap,
Deathbed is not as painful
As the heart that shattered slap

I must tell you,
Before I leave My angel's bed
I am tired, my love unto you,
I'm loving angels instead.
