Hawthorne and Poe: Introduction

To know more about this section, read on.

Two writers - both eminent and controversial. You can see the reasons why in the picture along with this article. Both delved into the fantastic to support their creative endeavours. This week I get to read multiple works by these authors, and look forward to discussing separate themes from each of them, before coming up with a single connecting thesis.

You can find the free, albeit with controversial legality in these links:

Hawthorne: The Birthmark, Rappaccini's Daughter, The Artist of the Beautiful, and Dr Heidegger's Experiment.
Poe:

  1. Stories: The Fall of the House of Usher, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Black Cat, The Facts in the Case of M Valdemar, and The Oval Portrait
  2. Poems: The Bells, The Raven, and Annabel Lee
Hope to have a busy time reading and writing.
