Creative Poetry: Shrouded Darkness

Did I mention I was in a very dark place when I wrote these? It seems I believed in God back then too. Read on.

Sometimes, in times of hardship
Hope can be seen flailing

Sometimes at every step
Life seems to be unforgiving

Sometimes its so hard,
That you want to shout out

Want to strangle the Creator,
Who put you through this mess

Want to scream, want to cry,
But all you manage, is just a sigh

When you are afraid,
And nothing is going right

Where everything you try
Fires right back at your face

When you lose all your confidence
And panic takes control

When the walls seem to be closing in,
And you are helpless to do anything

The darkness envelopes
Your body and soul

Like a blanket of black
Of nothingness so great

That there is absolute
Absolutely nothing

No silver lining
Just the plain dark

Just the four black-lined walls
That shroud me in darkness

Just the shadow of life
And the ghosts of hope
